I was reading the first blog of this site while smiling like a parent smiles at his/her excited child. How excited I was about this 'kingdom' of mine that I was building. This actually was my happy place, a place I could express myself although I think I could do better in doing so. It's been almost 4 years since I first wrote here and now that I look back, I feel like a totally new person. I'm glad I'm no longer as perfectionist and fearful of embarrassment as before, but I miss the desire I used to have to thrive for the better. Well, I'm still cluess about how my attitude towards life should be. I didn't have a plan to continue writing in this blogsite anymore, so I thought I'd better say final goodbye to this so called "Journal of My Journey" at the final hours of 2024. Bikini Atoll The other day I was reading the story 'othoi shagor' of 'Tin goyenda' again after almost 8 years and learned about an interesting historical reference which I had completely ignored the first time I read it. Today I'm sharing that with you. After World War 2, during the cold war between the United States and Russia, the U.S.A. conducted some consecutive nuclear tests on different islands and atolls in the Marshall islands (the testing sites were given the name– Pacific Proving Grounds). These tests continued for 12 years starting from 1946, to show the world how much power they had. According to the document, 105 nuclear tests were conducted in total. The first explosion took place at Bikini Atoll on 1July, 1946. (Atolls are ring-shaped coral islands.)
